Last week's topic on Illustration Friday is "Ocean" and these are my poster's thumbnails. I love reading, so I come up these ideas with my interest.
Here are 2 poster's thumbnails I did and both of them are about ocean.
My ideas came from:
National Geographic Magazines
These magazines are very old, but mostly I can find a lot of ideas from them. The Ocean poster's ideas are also come from National Geographic Magazines.
Fish images from National Geographic
This salmon images are from the article in the magazine.
Process in Photoshop:
First step to create my ocean poster
This is my first step to create my ocean poster. I chose one of my thumbnails and placed it in to Photoshop.
Rough Sketch
I created a new layer and made a draft sketch using brush tool.
Line "Drawing"
After I drew the rough sketch, I started my line "drawing" using pen tool and type tool in Photoshop.
Start the color stage
In this stage, I started to color my line drawing and I used a brush to create the effect on the book's cover.
Still during the color process
I chose red, orange and yellow to be the colors of the fish.
Book's cover on the poster
I created a wood fish to be the decoration on the book's cover.
Finish color stage
I chose blue-green to be my poster's background color because It looks like the sea.
My Final Ocean Poster
Finally, I used a brush to create some effect (bubbles) on the background. This is my poster.
