I search this image online and it inspired me. When I saw this image, I came up an idea about bird cage.

Process in Photoshop:

First step to create my poster

First step to create my poster

I chose one of my thumbnails and placed it in to Photoshop. This thumbnail expresses a stronger concept toward the topic.

Start working on the brid and cage

Start working on the bird and cage

In this step, I downloaded a bird cage's image and used pen tool to make a new path for the bird cage. Also, I color it using black. Then, I deleted the original bird cage and used pen tool and layer mask to work on the bird. I used brush tool to create the black edge around the bird to make it more stand out.

 Making feathers

Making feathers

I used pan tool and layer mask to make the feathers in every single piece. Also, I used brush tool and layer effect to make the shadow under each row of feather.

The other side of wing

The other side of wing

In this step, I use pen tool to create the wing in the other side. I did not put a lot of details on it because it is behind the front wing. Also, I used brush tool to create a pick background for my poster.

Woking on feathers

Working on feathers

In the last step, I created several feathers around it because I wanted to show that it's freedom is taking away.
